Freedom Shoes: Part 1

Time To Put On My Freedom Shoes!

So, you're probably wondering...What are Freedom Shoes?  Well, you see, I have been on this journey since I turned 30 and it hasn't been easy.  When I get the courage to talk to God about it, He tells me it's part of my process and things are going to turn out really great.  But to be honest, it hasn't felt that way and I've been on an emotional roller coaster for sometime now.  Much of the past year I have withdrawn because I'm tired of the questions, and tired of feeling like I'm not meeting everyone's expectations of how my life is supposed to turn out.  I know I shouldn't care about that, but nevertheless it has weighed me down.

Back to the Freedom Shoes...I think we, as women, love shoes.  We wear all different styles and colors, depending on the mood we are in and what outfit we feel like wearing.  For the sake of this blog, let's let shoes represent things that we choose to wear as we go through life.  They move us forward or backward. This may be attitudes, fears, emotions, etc.  We wear all these different "shoes" as we go through life, but today I would like to propose something new, something different, and that is FREEDOM SHOES!

Sometimes I would like to be a superhero, maybe have some special power and be able to fight off all the bad guys in my life.  That's where Freedom Shoes come in...they are just that, a superpower from God that let's us live and be everything God has designed us to be.  They don't hold us back, instead they catapult us forward into our destiny.  There is a catch though...we have to decide to put them on.  

This blog will be my journey as I CHOOSE to wear my Freedom Shoes.  I do need to set the ground rules though.  I am going to be very transparent.  Not because this is something I want to do, but because if my experience can help anyone else make sense of their life, it will be worth it.  Also, realize that everyone is on their own journey, and some look different than others.  Until you've walked a mile in someone else's shoes, you may not understand why it seems like they make the decisions they do.
